Research

Research Interests

Nutritional Efficiency and Feed Formulation: Investigate optimal diets for monogastric animals (pigs, poultry) to maximize growth rate and efficiency of nutrient utilization. This involve exploring alternative feed ingredients, additives, or processing techniques.

Gut Health and Microbiota: Study the impact of diet composition on gut microbiota of monogastric animals, and how these microbial communities influence nutrient absorption, immune function, and overall health.

Environmental Impact: Research sustainable practices in monogastric production systems, focusing on reducing environmental footprint through improved feed efficiency, waste management strategies, or alternative protein sources.

Health and Disease Management: Investigate nutritional strategies to enhance immune function and disease resistance in monogastric animals, potentially through dietary interventions or probiotics.

Economics of Production: Analyze the economic implications of different nutritional strategies or production systems for monogastric animals, considering factors such as feed costs, market prices, and profitability.

Animal Behaviour and Welfare: Study how different nutritional regimes affect behavior, stress levels, and welfare outcomes in monogastric species, aiming to optimize both physiological performance and animal well-being.

Precision Feeding Technologies: Explore the application of precision feeding technologies, such as automated feeders or real-time monitoring systems, to optimize individual animal nutrition and health outcomes.
