BRIEF PROFILE

Ms. Valentina Aisha Sulleyman is a Principal Technologist and the Farm Manager for the Nyanpkala station of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – Animal Research Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Technology (Animal science option) and Master of philosophy in Animal science (Breeding and Genetics option) both from the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana. She is currently focused on maintaining the small ruminant breeding program which developed an improved breed of sheep to cater for the needs of livestock farmers who are interested in the desirable traits in both the Sahelian and Djallonke sheep breeds. She has previously been involved in projects such as the CIDA - FABS project that sought to increase the availability and hatchability of guinea fowl eggs in the dry season and the ACDEP/Prolinnova project that tested the efficacy of kerosene - groundnut oil mixture as tick control in small ruminants. She has a referred journal publication and a couple of edited conference papers.
